CANSA SHAVATHON

PLEASE JOIN US IN PARTICIPATING AT THIS WEEKENDS CANSA Shavathon 2010

OUR FAMILY WILL BE AT THE MALL AT REDS SHOPPING CENTRE IN PRETORIA, 6 MARCH 2010 AT 10AM IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US THERE, OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE AT ALL MAJOR SHOPPING CENTRES AROUND SOUTH AFRICA

Shave or spray your hair in solidarity with a cancer survivor or someone lost to the disease.

Shavathon 2010 promises to be even more successful - over 300 work places and 150 shopping centres are taking part in CANSA's 7th Shavathon event. On the 5th of March schools, organizations and work places will host Shavathon events, while on Saturday, 6th March, Shavathon events will take place at shopping centres across South Africa. Keep posted on Facebook and Twitter or add pics on Flickr.
Cancer survivors Mark Pilgrim and Lillian Dube encourage all South Africans to show support and to take part in CANSA Shavathon. "By shaving or colour spraying for the event, we show support and celebrate life with cancer survivors. We remember our loved ones who have lost their lives to cancer," says Sue Janse van Rensburg, CANSA's CEO and cancer survivor of over 25 years. Listen to the Shavathon message in English or Afrikaans.
For a R50 donation (adults) and a R25 donation (children under 12) when you shave or spray, you can help make a difference in many lives. Take part at your nearest participating shopping centre . You could also volunteer your services or collect a pledge from family or friends. If you are not able to participate, pay a "bail-out fee".
For those spray-junkies looking for an extra thrill, these are the latest stencil designs available at 2010's shopping malls Shavathon Event: a star, butterfly, flower, soccer ball, lightning bolt and "warrior" design. Safe, quality vegetable dye colour sprays are available in red, pink, purple, "blue bull blue", green, silver, yellow, orange, black and white. You can double your support of CANSA by first shaving and then spraying!
Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer - join the fight by registering your school, organization, place of worship or work place at www.shavathon.org.za and support the work of CANSA.
CANSA is truly thankful to all those who are sponsoring Shavathon 2010.
See you there!

Also wanted to wish Pat Lacey , Wills Dad, and all the other families hosting the Cure Me Im Irish events this weekend, we know they are going to be a massive success, sending you all our love and support from South Africa!!

God Bless, Love Samm

Hi Ya Deqlan,

Well, I won't be able to make this shaveathon, but I will be getting a shave in the near future as I am going to ask our Township to host a Saint Baldricks event at an upcoming festival and you know course that I'll be the first to "shave" and if I get enough donations, the beard will go too.
Now how can I get Missus Gj to shave is the question

God Bless You
Grandpa John (aka John Raschke, Redford MI)

PS: Sorry I haven't been checking..will try to do better in the future.
